I got an early Christmas present from Sandra Crook. She has bestowed the Blog of the Year 2012 Award upon me. Sandra has been one of those supporters who returns week after week making my efforts seem worthwhile. She also wields a wicked pen. She writes some wonderful flash fiction. I am never disappointed. You need to check her stuff out.
So here are the rules for accepting such an honor:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
There are many blogs that I check regularly and admire. In no particular order here are three of them that I am passing the award on to. Check them out:
Lillie McFerrin is the maven of Five Sentence Fiction. She has introduced a whole host of writers to a fun and valuable exercise. Five Sentence Fiction is exactly what it sounds like: write a story consisting of five sentences, no more, no less. There is no word limit but beware of run-on sentences. She posts a single word prompt every Thursday and all are invited to write to that prompt and post a link to their tiny tale. Her blog has kept writing fresh and exciting for me and I believe has had a positive impact on my craft.
Pinionpost is the brainchild of Brian Benoit whom I became acquainted with through Lillie McFerrin’s site. He is a wonderful writer who posts a lot of his flash fiction from several writing challenges he engages in each week, and thank God for that. What he shares is consistently captivating and fresh. He also posts occasional articles and a well researched monthly list of writing contests.
Andrew Zahn and his blog Creatives has been mentioned here a number of times and his blog has long been a staple of my blogospheric diet. He and I have been stomping through each other’s blogs for over a year. Andrew is a Creative’s creative. He wears the hat of writer, blogger, videographer, actor, foodie and will soon be adding the title father to that list. He has a forever optimistic and refreshing outlook on the life and trials of a creative. Creativity can be difficult to capture at times but Andrew has a big net. Please check out his blog.
I think that wraps it up. I have met the requirements of the award and will proudly display it on my side bar. Thanks again Sandra, you made my day.
